Catalytic converter clean

A customer鈥檚 vehicle was having trouble with the catalytic converter. I wanted to try something new. I found this product and tried it on this vehicle which had the same code for catalytic converter to be replaced. I tried this product Vehicle started smoking and had a real bad smell of burnt. For the price it wasn鈥檛 too bad. The check engine light went away it was very effectiveness.

Kinda hard to judge with things like this - internal only, subtle performance enhancers/cleaners. Without taking it to a mechanic to check, I can't really be sure of the actual impact; particularly since my car is only 7 years old, and also has pretty low mileage. But my dad was a mechanic and suggested using a cat cleaner every 5 years just as maintenance & I hadn't done so with my current vehicle yet, so gave this a try. It's been about 3 weeks & I've not had any issues with my car - starts & drives like normal. No complaints so far! ??

I will add - I have seen similar cleaning products used on much older cars that obviously had fuel gunk issues (per my dad the mechanic). And with many, I *did* see a noticeable improvement within a few days, if not hours. So if you have a 15+ yr old car that is having oxygen sensor issues or something else fuel related, I would recommend starting with this product before replacing any parts.

Hard to verify, but no harm noticed.

I'm always hesitant to buy these "mechanic in a bottle" type products, largely because: how does one really know if they work? You can't exactly see the catalytic converter before and after. My main concern is always whether they could potentially do harm to the engine or exhaust system.

So far, I've used two of the three bottles over the span of about five full gas fills, adding it to my Prius and my Chevy Cruze.

The good news is I have seen absolutely no harm or negative side effects鈥攏o check engine lights, no rough idling, nothing unusual. The bad news is, I can't definitively say I've seen any positive effects either. It's one of those preventative maintenance items you use hoping it's doing what it claims. For now, my review is neutral: it didn't hurt anything, but I can't confirm it helped. Good value for the money, especially if it works. Size of can is small but not too small you think you're paying for nothing. No major smell, before or after use either. The item and its functionality is needed and wanted on any car I drive.

My car has been occasionally showing the catalytic converter code p0420 about once a month. I followed the directions, adding 1 bottle to a nearly empty tank, and driving the 30 miles home from work, stopping for fuel just as the fuel warning light came on, then filling the tank. This helped a little, taking a bit longer for the code to pop up. Repeated with a 2nd bottle of this 3-pack, and the code popped up again the next day.
Product label claims it contains some sort of ether, but I was unable to smell anything.

Worked for me

I followed the instructions as far as using at a lower tank level and running it for a few miles then adding more fuel and it really feels like it worked. Put out a lot of smoke for a little while while idling and running and then seemed to clear up. I would recommend for anyone having issues with catalytic converter, It seemed to have worked for me and I鈥榣l be running another bottle through in a few days. Easy to use, smell isn鈥檛 different than any fuel or anything and for the price definitely worth it.

Great catalytic cleaner

This cat cleaner really works. Cleared the engine light on my old Honda Odyssey for over 600 miles, before the light returned. More than enough time to pass the annual emissions test. And, I still have another bottle I haven鈥榯 used yet.

Tip this in the tank and go run in the highway, and the crud that blows out is incredible. Worked great for my Jeep

Keeps the check engine light off

These work well to clear a check engine lights for catalytic issues. You add these when you have just a few gallons of gas, then drive the vehicle for 30 miles. The you fill the tank.

We have used all three of these over the past few weeks. So far they have worked to keep the light off. These are a good value. Once the light has been off for a few weeks, we will use these every few months.

Took time to get into the tank, but seems to work well.

This comes in a 3 pack. I used the first bottle in my car. I had some difficulty pouring it into the tank. Once I finished filling the tank with gas, we started the test. Car started and ran like always. Over the next 3 days, I began to see an improvement in the fuel economy, slightly better milage at 3 mpg improvement. Otherwise no other notable changes. I will use the next bottle in a month and see what happens then. Overall, it is easy to use since you just put it in the tank, but you do have to get the neck in far enough to go into the tank. Otherwise, not a bad product.

Smoothed my engine

Well I have used this in my last fill up, now several days, and I must tell you that I noticed a smoothness to my engine the first mile. I have no way of checking if it true cleans out the catalytic converter, but it sure has something that is causing a positive effect. I got this product because I own a 2017 Prius V wagon style car and it has gotten a bit rougher running lately. I had the shop install new plugs, had the EGR device cleaned, and all the recommended services done, and still it wasn't quite right. So I got this product filled my tank with gasoline and poured this into the tank when I got home. It sat in the tank overnight. I jumped in the next morning and started my drive and before I got to the first traffic light, I noticed it felt smoother, less engine roughness. Why exactly, I don't know, but this is my experience. It will take many miles to really know if this is a permanent change, but I sure know it works better in my car than regular fuel injection cleaner and it costs about the same. So I think from here on, this is my new additive. Just to mention, my Toyota Prius V has 78,000 miles on it and I change the oil every 3 thousand miles. It had been getting about 39 mpg and now is showing about 41 mpg, so it is a positive in my opinion. Not earth shattering, but I like the improvement just fine. If you have similar issues, I recommend you give this a try and see if it smooths your engine. I will be interested in hearing your comments to see if your getting the same engine feeling I got. Easy Breezy additive

So this is an additive for the car that he said to be useful for the catalytic converter. I have used additives in the past like STP and others and had great results with them including more acceleration and better gas mileage. This who said to help the catalytic converter and I want that so with time I will know just what effect I will get out of this. It was reasonably priced and shipped quickly and I think we'll be effective. It is easy to use as you just add it to your gas tank when it is almost empty then fill up the tank and run it through. Easy breezy for my Japanese car

I expected it to smell

Im really unsure about this product.
It says it's ether, but it looks and smells and feels like water.
I think im going to do a little more research prior to using. instructions are included, and are easy to follow.
If it works it'll be a great deal, i just really want to check it out a bit more.

Seems to be working so far

I normally wouldn't try any product like this, but our 2006 Pilot with 316K miles just illuminated the check engine light (bank 1 catalytic converter below threshold), and it's going to be a couple weeks before I can get around to changing it, so I'm giving this product a chance.

I have already cleared the codes a couple of times, and they're usually back within a trip or two, so I know that they're not going to magically go away.

I followed the instructions on the bottle to the letter. The fuel was a little below 1/4 tank, so I dumped this product in, and drove into town to run some errands. You're supposed to drive 30-50 km, then refill the tank with fresh gas, and as this lined up with my plans for the day, that's what I did.

So far, the CEL hasn't come back on. These products are usually band-aids at best, so I don't know how long the good effects will last, but here's hoping that it gets us through the next couple of weeks with no more codes.

The smell is a little funny, but the product is very easy to use. As far as value goes, only time will tell. If it keeps the car from throwing codes for the next couple of weeks, I'd call it a good value for money.

1 Bottle did great on less restrictive cats.

I use these type products whenever I get the chance... These products work by superheating your cat and basically steam cleaning the honycomb inside... This one seems to work especially great on less restrictive cats like my pre-2000 dodges, and also did prettty well on my highly restrictive 2010 Beamer, but I'll need to use another bottle on that one... You basically just dump it in and go. Make sure you only have about 1/4 tank or less for full effectiveness per bottle and you'll know when it works due to the steam and often some dark water coming out of your exhaust...

Throw it in with a 1\4 tank or less and run it pretty low. Or run all 3 bottles in half a tank and it does the job. Sometimes a cat can be cleaned this way, but not usually. If it's underperforming, and you've not been burning excessive oil, it's more likely that it's simply degraded beyond useful. But if you have to add oil in-between oil changes this can help burn things off.
Basically if you have a chemical created issue then a chemical can probably fix it. If you have a physical issue a chemical cannot fix it

Car idles a lot better

Seem to work for me maybe it鈥檚 mine over matter, but I would buy again
